It is known that the mass produced in Russia fire extinguishers powder has a number of drawbacks. Among them (in addition to the low quality of powders) include the imperfection of the internal system of transportation of fire extinguishing powder, which is why the powder residue after the use of powder fire extinguisher for its intended purpose sometimes significantly exceeds the maximum permissible rate. The residual value can be significantly reduced by using a porous container containing a stock of extinguishing powder in the design of the powder fire extinguisher. The paper presents the results of an experimental study to improve the design of a powder fire extinguisher with a built-in porous capacity, based on the known fundamental analytical dependences on the trajectory of solid particles in the gas flow
